About Us
Co-founded by Des Byrne and Paul Murray, the Dublin Street Photography Festival (DSPF) is a photography festival that aims to promote street photography as an art form and a form of cultural communication.
Our Vision
To be recognised globally as a festival which celebrates the art of street photography, inspiring and connecting a diverse community of artists and enthusiasts while championing the unique narrative power of the streets.
Our Mission
The Dublin Street Photography Festival is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive community around the art of street photography. We are committed to promoting both emerging and established practitioners, providing a platform for their work to be showcased, celebrated, and discussed. Our festival production and prizes are funded through our competitions, with all finalists and winners selected solely on artistic merit by a panel of expert judges. Our founders and dedicated volunteers receive no remuneration, ensuring that every contribution directly benefits the advancement of street photography.
Our Values
Artistic Integrity: We uphold the highest standards of artistic excellence, ensuring that all selections and awards are based purely on the merit of the work.
Inclusivity & Community: We believe in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all photographers, regardless of their background, experience level, or photographic style. We actively seek to build a diverse and engaged community.
Respect & Collaboration: We foster positive interactions built on mutual respect, generosity, and collaboration among all participants, artists, and attendees. This commitment creates a safe and supportive space where creativity can flourish and grow.
Passion for Street Photography: We are driven by a deep love for street photography and its unique ability to capture candid moments, human stories, and the essence of urban life.
Transparency & Ethics: As a not-for-profit organisation, we are committed to clear and responsible financial practices and decision-making, ensuring that all efforts contribute directly to our mission. Our founders and volunteers are unpaid, reflecting our dedication to the cause.
A word of thanks
None of our activities would be possible without the support of our main sponsor McGarrell Reilly Group, and our hosts: Charlemont Square.
We would also like to thank the many friends of the festival for their support.
We are truly thankful for the wonderful dedication of our amazing judges and guest photographers. Their expertise and passion for street photography were invaluable in shaping this year's festival. We sincerely appreciate their time and effort in enriching the experience for everyone and helping us create a welcoming environment for all who love this art form. We're so grateful for their part in making the festival a positive occasion.
Finally, we would like to thank our volunteers for their hard work and support.
